This is the first of our bi-monthly newsletters which are intended to bring you club news in brief. There have been several shows over the last two or three months including Pencoed and Stoneleigh. Pencoed Dave Stoneleigh It was a great start to the season, the weather was dry and the days were fine. There were the usual exhibits, which make this show one of the best in the season and well worth attending. There did not seem to be as many participants as on previous years but there was still a lot to see and do. John managed to fit the clubhouse into the Hawke and I must say that seeing the Hawke finished was a sight well worth waiting for. She is an absolutely beautiful example of a kit car, in fact, she won best in show on the Hawke stand – a fantastic achievement for her first outing at a show and very well deserved. I think John might have struggled to pack everything up, as he had such a large trophy to take back! For those who have never been to Stoneleigh, this is definitely a show which should not be missed and, if camping is not your scene, then you can always stay in the hostel or in the Lodge. We did think that perhaps members might like to book into the Lodge and perhaps we could save something each month to help towards the cost. If anyone is interested in doing this, then please contact Phil or Dave and we will organise something. Just to let you know, you will need to contact the Lodge and book in by leaving your credit card details – information about the Lodge is on the Internet or, if you prefer, just let us know and we will pass on the telephone number. You can cancel up to 2 weeks before the show and will not be charged a cancellation fee. Lynwen
